The Gallowhill Ploughshare was presented by Jim Paterson in 2003. Originally the competition was to be run alongside the Jubilee Salver, principally for skips and thirds. From 2022-2023 the format has changed – rinks play in two leagues, with playing positions different for each game. Winner receives the Gallowhill Ploughshare, and runner up the Jubilee Salver.
